Sign Up and Verify Your Captivar Account

Step-by-step walkthrough for creating your Captivar agency account, verifying your email, and choosing the right plan to start with.

Last updated · Jun 24, 2026

Creating your Captivar account takes about three minutes. This article walks through every step, calls out the choices you need to make, and explains what’s actually happening behind the scenes — so you can recover quickly if anything goes sideways.

What you’ll need before you start

Have these in hand before you click sign up. None of them are mandatory, but all three save you time later.

  • A business email[email protected]. Personal Gmail addresses work, but the platform was designed assuming an agency identity, so the rest of the setup feels more natural with a business address.
  • Your agency name — exactly how you want it to appear. This becomes the default brand name in the client portal until you configure custom branding.
  • A password manager open — you will set a password during signup. Treat it like any other production credential.

The signup flow, step by step

  1. Open the signup page. Go to app.captivar.com/signup. The page asks for three things: your name, your email, and a password.

  2. Fill in your details. Name and email go in the obvious places. Pick a password of at least 12 characters — Captivar enforces a minimum length but does not enforce a complexity pattern; longer beats stranger.

  3. Click “Create account.” The platform creates your user record, generates a 6-digit verification code, and sends it to the email address you entered. The code is valid for 10 minutes.

  4. Check your email and enter the code. Open the email titled “Confirm your Captivar account.” It contains a 6-digit code. Type the code into the verification field on the signup page. If you cannot find the email, check spam, then click “Resend code” — a fresh code invalidates any previous one.

  5. Land in the dashboard. Once the code is verified, your account is created on the Free plan and you are logged in. You will see the agency dashboard with prompts to add your first site.

What plan you start on

Every new account starts on the Free plan. Free is not a trial — it does not expire, it does not auto-upgrade, and you are not asked for a credit card. You get one client site, one form, 100 AI messages per month, and 5 bookings per month. That is enough to demo the product to a single client or test it on your agency’s own site.

You can upgrade at any time from the Billing page. The plans are:

PlanMonthlySitesAI messagesBest for
Free$01100 / moTesting the product
Founder$291500 / moSolo founders, single site
Starter$7932,500 / moSolo agencies, few clients
Agency$2491515,000 / moThe tier most agencies land on
Enterprise$499UnlimitedUnlimitedScaled agencies, custom domain

Setting up two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication is recommended for any agency account because losing access to it would mean losing visibility across every client site you manage. Captivar uses email-based 2FA — when enabled, a 6-digit code is sent to your email on every new login.

To enable 2FA:

  1. Open Account settings. Click your name in the top-right of the dashboard, then select Settings from the dropdown.

  2. Find the Security section. Scroll to “Security” — the toggle for “Email two-factor authentication” is at the top.

  3. Flip it on. The platform sends a test code to your email to confirm delivery works. Enter it, and 2FA is live. From the next login onward, every sign-in will ask for a fresh code.

If you get locked out

Captivar locks accounts after seven failed password attempts for thirty minutes. If you find yourself locked out:

  • Wait it out. Thirty minutes from the last failed attempt and the lock clears automatically.
  • Reset your password. Click “Forgot password” on the login page, enter your email, then enter the 6-digit code from the reset email plus your new password.

What happens next

Your account is created, your email is verified, you are logged in. The dashboard will be mostly empty because you have not added a site yet — that is the next step.

The Free plan does not require you to add a site immediately, so feel free to click around. The sidebar shows every section of the platform; most will show empty states until you have data flowing. That is normal — we built the empty states to teach what each section will eventually show.

When you are ready, add a site. That is where the platform actually comes alive.
